Golden Bud known as ‘Jin Ya’ in China, this rare, top-grade tea is picked in early spring when the tea plants, are budding with the year’s new growth. Golden buds also refers to the apearance of this tea and the fact that it is made exclusively from the buds of the tea plants. Golden Bud is a supreme ‘pure gold’ black tea consisting solely of buds, the exclusive use of single young tea buds to make golden buds is highly unusual for a black tea, because of this, it possesses a very rich aroma that some people say resembles cocoa. The flavor is smooth with a delicate sweetness that fills the entire palate, the infusion is velvety, full, and sweet with a cocoa powder. The bright amber liquor produces a light to medium strength liquor with an attarctive fragrance, the smooth taste has a complex profile that is sweet and malty, the complex flavors have notes of cocoa, sour fruits and wheat biscuits with a clean and refresing aftertaste.
